Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre Expansion

Background
In 2008, Fast Flow Australia was invited by Thompson Kane Hydraulic Consultants, representing Key Stakeholders BCEC General Management / AEG Ogden, Cox Rayner Architects and Laing O’Rourke Australia Pty Ltd, to be involved in the $130 million expansion of the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. The primary objective was to provide an environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art roofwater drainage solution for an additional 8,000 sq. m. of roof area, encompassing a 52% increase in convention space.
Challenge
Building on the BCEC’s current environmental standards and practices to meet global environmental benchmarks, Fast Flow Australia was required to provide an intuitive Siphonic design, ensuring that it would be coompliant with the organizational objectives set for the new development to be a “Green Building” with a five-star Green Environmental Rating. Allowance for conceptual design revisions and outright system installation time meant that Fast Flow Australia was required to adhere to a strict Project Timetable.
Outcome
Fast Flow Australia’s communication and onsite professionalism ensured that we targeted and met these key milestones, and delivered a successful project on time and within budgetary requirements.
